TASSC Joins Vigil to Close Guantanamo

TASSC Executive Director Gizachew Emiru speaks on behalf of survivors of torture and calls on President Obama to close Guantanamo.

What is Guantanamo? A military prison camp in Cuba opened in 2002 by President Bush. Under Bush, 776 men were captured by cash bounties. But the majority were innocent.Eleven years later, 166 remain imprisoned. 157 have not been charged. 86 have been cleared for release, and now 130 are on a hunger strike to protest their indefinite detention. Several are being force-fed in violation of medical ethics.In 2008, President Obama promised to shut down Guantanamo. It has been over four years since his promise. Tell President Obama to close Guantanamo now.
